I am 17 years old and have been doing journalism for three years. I originally joined our school's Journalism program due to my inherent opinionated way of life. I thought that if I joined the program, I would just share my opinions on whatever I wanted, and people would just read it. However, I quickly learned that l couldn't just write about anything and that the article actually needed to be good for people to want to read it. As the years went on, I found stories that weren't just thought-provoking to myself but could also be informative to others in my community. Many of the stories I have written have addressed school issues that had a lot of controversy around it, such as my article "Students need to be thankful for their futures". I still mainly write mostly opinion pieces, but I have since curated my writing style to include versatile issues like wildfires, cheating in school, cancer, inequity, and many more.
